Portland is Belgium’s finest Indie Dreampop band around the front duo Jente Pironet and Sarah Pepels.
After they met as students at the PXL Music college in Hasselt, it quickly became clear that their voices were a wonderful match. They set the bar high from the start. In 2016 they were a finalist in Humo’s Rock Rally and in 2018 they were the winners of De Nieuwe Lichting, a Belgian radio competition run by Studio Brussels.
A club tour sold out quickly and, in the summer of 2019, Portland was able to cross both Rock Werchter and Pukkelpop off their bucket list, before releasing their debut album ‘Your Colours Will Stain’ with PIAS. Their songs are rich in dynamics and melody, while two incredible harmonious voices really strike a chord and pull on all the heartstrings.
In 2020, they were nominated twice for the MIA’s (Belgian Music Industry Awards) as a ‘Breakthrough’ and ‘Alternative’ artist. The band has proven to be ready for bigger stages and their international road trip to success.
